living on your own
« on: January 15, 2011, 11:50:08 PM »
so me and my fag hag had been thinking of living together as roomates and because of certain events i was wondering around how much does it take to live on your own? (financially)

If Love was easy it wouldn't be worth it...so I'll wait I guess

for financial..
make a list of all the necessary things you need everyday! if i say necesary NECESARY! haha. ako nuon i need 200 php everyday and hnd kasama transpo and gala/luho. tpos magbabudget n ako kung ilan bibilhin ko ng mga nasa listahan na good for one month. may mga mura nmn in bulk kaya madami k din madadagdag sa groceries, minimun nga lang pala yang 200, pero i keep it minimum para magastos sa iba, like buying clothes, wahahah

tapos i store food! khit magkaubusan n ng pera, kasi sa labas ako kumakain! haha para pagwala ako pera panglabas, luto ako sa bahay.;>

i enjoyed the freedom. haha
pero ngayon nhnd n nagiisa, eh parang hnd ko n kaya n magisa ulet;>

If you're renting a place, it'll cost 3-10K a month (or more), depending on the type of rented place -- if it's a room, an apartment, condo, etc.

Add the utilities which should start at around P700 per month (or more) for the basics (electricity + water); you'll add more if you include LPG, cable and internet. Add at least P300 a month for laundry, unless you're going to handwash your clothes.

Since I often cook my own food at home, I could survive on around 3-4K on food for a month. I don't smoke, so I don't have to add the cost of cigarettes sa gastos ko. Since I'm working, I need to include the cost of going to and from work, as well as money for food when working.

The figures I listed are mostly my guestimate sa monthly gastos ko, but I hope it'll give you a good idea on the minimum amount of spending you'll do should you end up living on your own.

That depends on where the apartment is. Mine costs P9K (I live in Mandaluyong), and it's on the pricey side. In some areas of Metro Manila, you could find a similar apartment for 6K or so.

No prob. Living independently could be the scariest and most satisfying thing you could do in your life. You'll discover a lot about yourself once you start taking care of yourself.

morty be prepared to spend around 10k per month. That's just your share.

You'll tend to spend more on food and taxis. And all the home improvement stuff you think you need. Laundry pati, which i find is more convenient if you hire others to do for you. Saka kuryente. Mahal mahal ng kuryente puta.
in the end, we just want to find someone who won't permit us to be lonely.

well, kung mag rerent ka ng bahay ganun talaga expenses... ako kasi akin yung bahay na yun kya ang gastos ko lang eh pagkain ilaw and tubig... wala naman ako masyado gamit sa bahay kasi di naman ako mahilig manuod ng TV computer lang saka fan and isang maliit na ref then periodically bumibili ako ng gasul... more or less nagagastos ko every month eh around 7k... kasama na transpo allowance ko dun kasi malapit lang din naman sa trabaho yung bahay ko

mahirap yang financial matters when it comes to having a room mate! Trust me, may utang pa yung last room mate ko na aabot ng 15k haha. AMP

anyway, when it comes to your bills, it's easier na magbibigay na kayo ng kahit half nung usual na binabayaran nyo for kuryente at tubig (phone, net etc) and also dun sa rent ng room/house, mahirap kasi yung pag due date na saka kayo maghahagilap ng perang pambayad.

AND.. kung may issues and disagreements kayo, NEVER tell anybody from the outside, mahirap isettle ang arguments when you have people behind your backs bickering about your issues, eh hindi naman sila kasali dun!
