let me start....

well cguro nakakinis lang yung part ng Investments lalo na yung pagdating sa debt securities... kakainis mag amortize tapos may na-encounter akong problem na yung securities eh may nag convert tapos biglang may nag retire tapos bumili ulit kakainis yung ganun then biglang sa gitna ng period nagkaroon ng IMPAIRMENT grrr tapos gagawa ka ng table 2 ng ammortization grabee ang tedious!

nakakinis ang CASH AND CASH EQUIVALENTS! grrrrr ewan ko lalo na gumagawa ng proof of cash tapos petty cash tsaka the ever loving bank reconciliation grrrrr

tapos most favourite topic ko is yung Capital Budgeting or minsan is yung Business Combination sa ADVACC

ako rin naman okay lang yung debt securities kaso pag sabay sabay na silang lahat nakakainis grrrr.... tapos yung sa cash parang okay lang naman talaga siya kaso siguro at that time na tinuro sa amin sa finacc yun di pa ganun kami ka-mature imagin yung level nung from partnership and corpo biglang finacc eh wala pa sa kalingkingan ng level ng finacc ang par-corp:))))

@lost: isa pa sa nakakainis is yung PROCESS COSTING yung mga EUP.... well ok lang tlaaga siya pero nung andyan na yung waste, spoilages at abnormal loss nagka leche leche na ang pagintindi ko ng process costing )))

Quickbooks is a program that allows businesses and small companies to computerize their bookkeeping......

(Peachtree is another such program.....slightly more sophisticated).....

but there is more to accounting than just bookkeeping.........

at bigsmoothguy.......in the old g4m......we used to counsel the accounting students with their school/class problems kasi they sometimes couldn't understand or their professors explanations were insufficient......we acted as mentors........it was really cool.......

and we acted as support group to each other......lalo pag may nato-toxic na.......hahahahaha

as for your question regarding school.....I studied accounting in Suffolk University.........

and for Daniel7......hindi naman importante kung saan ka nag aral......ang importante natuto ka........

Actually......last December I had the privilege to address a group of Deans of Business Schools and Universities......it was their quarterly meeting and Christmas party na rin.......I was invited to be their speaker........needless to say I was very nervous but i did end up giving a very inspiring talk........i was even invited by some of the deans to talk to their students also......

anyway.....in my speech one of my assertions was that in this information age.......the role of the accountant is clearly shifting up from the manual work of information input to more of information management.......

the accountant will soon become the CIO.....or the chief information officer..........because more or less.....it is the accountant who can best analyse and interpret the numbers........

actually bookkeeping is very minimal (but tedious).......in fact, of all the accounting functions, it is so simple and almost automatic that it can be and in fact already being outsourced....... but planning, monitoring, control.....those have still got to be done by accountants.......
