Memorable Movie Lines
« on: February 02, 2011, 06:12:29 AM »
“No form of art goes beyond ordinary consciousness as film does, straight to our emotions, deep into the twilight of the soul”
-Ingrid Bergman
Swedish born American film and stage Actress, 1915-1982

Movie lines have been part of the gay community as far as anybody can remember. Some lines become more remembered or recognizable than the original intention. Scores of memorable lines have captured our attention by it's delivery, the actor's prowess or many may have become catch phrases.

Thanks to the brilliant actors and scriptwriters behind them. The movies may have been forgotten but their works live on.

So, what's your favorite movie line?

“If my film makes one more person miserable, I've done my job”
-Woody Allen
American Actor, Author, Screenwriter and Film Director, b.1935

*Kindly indicate the actor and movie the line came from.
Happy posting!

Quote from: Miranda Priestly
"This... stuff'? Oh. Okay. I see. You think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you select... I don't know... that lumpy blue sweater, for instance because you're trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back. But what you don't know is that that sweater is not just blue, it's not turquoise. It's not lapis. It's actually cerulean. And you're also blithely unaware of the fact that in 2002, Oscar de la Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns. And then I think it was Yves Saint Laurent... wasn't it who showed cerulean military jackets? I think we need a jacket here. And then cerulean quickly showed up in the collections of eight different designers. And then it, uh, filtered down through the department stores and then trickled on down into some tragic Casual Corner where you, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin. However, that blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs and it's sort of comical how you think that you've made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact, you're wearing the sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room from a pile of stuff."

lines sila eeh.. isang scene hahaha!

If Only - Samantha ( Jennifer Love Hewitt)

Samantha: Ian, I know you have the best intentions, but I feel like I'm a really high second priority to you. That hurts. And the worst part is I'm starting to get used to it.

Ian: I don't understand.

Samantha: I know. That's what kills me... If there had just been one day Ian, one day where nothing else matters but us.

Quote
I promise never to take you for granted
Or utter a word unkind
Never allow my affection to be recanted
Or stop marveling at your behind
To also marvel at your warmth
your wit
your refusal to condone animal slaughter
your wisdom
your laugh
your inability to boil water
To be your best friend for the rest of my life
And to thank to the God you are not sure about
for fooling you into being my wife

Love And Other Disasters

Therapist (Dawn French) to Peter Simon (Matthew Rhys)

"The stages of a relationship can be defined by farting. Stage one is the conspiracy of silence. This is a fantasy period where both parties pretend that they have no bodily waste. This illusion is very quickly shattered by that first shy, "Ooh, did you fart," followed by the sheepish admission of truth. This heralds a period of deeper intimacy. A period I like to call the "Fart Honeymoon", where both parties find each other's gas just the cutest thing in the world. But, of course, no honeymoon can last forever. And so we reach the critical fork in the fart. Either the fart loses its power to amuse and embarrass thereby signifying true love, or else it begins to annoy and disgust, thereby symbolizing all that is blocked and rancid in the formerly beloved. Do you see what I'm getting at?"
